With all the hype going on about the Rugby World Cup, emails are flying about with great alacrity. Most of them are dedicated to knocking the New Zealand and Australian teams.
Who would have thought that they would make such premature and graceful exits?
The latest one to reach my desk depicts the wine bottle in the illustration.
It is an AUSTRALIAN WHINE made from "Pure sour grapes".
The neck band has a picture of David Campese draped with the words Shatto Campo on either side! The wine is "POM VICTOIRE Campaign" and the vintage 2007.
The wine description states that the wine has been matured over several years. It is a robust performer that has been enjoyed by the English for some time. Australians may find it hard to swallow due to its bitter aftertaste which can last for four years or more. It is best served cold with humble pie or barbecued wings.
The front label has a picture of a vital kick being missed in extra time!
Anyone wishing to buy the wine will find it available at Down Underwines through Thrashers.
