SLALEY ESTATE has a new range of social wines.
Depicted in the picture is the latest one to appear on the market. Instead of the customary Cape chateau style house, the label depicts a small African hut. It is called SHATOT BLANQUE (white blend).
"Leisure Options magazine May 2007, page 5, describes it as "Something new and fun.... Slaley's Shatot Blanque. Cheeky name, but an easy-drinking, pop-in-the-picnic-basket white blend at R25".
It has two sister wines viz. SHATOT PLANQUE (red blend) and a rose called SHATOT PLINQUE. There is another in this range called LINDSAY's WHIMSY (Cape blend). They are all 2 to 2 1/2 star wines in John Platters.
In line with their philosophy of producing wine of exceptional value across a wide price spectrum, SLALEY ESTATE have produced these tongue-in-cheek labels/wines for those rich in friendship, warmth and sociability. These wines are rooted in South African Terroir.
