BUY A WINE FARM

N O W is the time to buy a South African wine farm.

There are roughly 50  farms in the Cape that are currently up for sale, as there is a shake-out taking place. Over the past few years the number of wine farms has accelerated exponentially and every Tom, Dick and Harry jumped onto the band wagon!

Now to stop the wine market from being flooded with unsaleable wine, farmers are being paid not to harvest their crops.

But the situation is not all that bad. We are better off than Australia where many farms have gone to the wall and tens of thousands of hectares of vineyards have been pulled up. SHATOT BLANQUE

To complement their Shatot Planque and Shatot Plinque, Slaley has just brought out a white blend called Shatot Blanque.

It should do extremely well and all who have tasted it, seem to regard it very favourably. Made up of 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 36% Riesling and 14% Chardonnay it is something new, interesting and of exceptional value. It is a complex wine made from three noble white varieties. There are hints of tropical fruits, guava, figs and a balance of straw.

Wine maker Marius Malan says that the screw cap makes it easy to enjoy and it can be drunk with anything you desire as the wine was made with passion and joy!
